Organisation Design

Have you got all the right jobs defined to deliver your business goals? You may have a number of jobs which were important in the past but are now no longer delivering value. Good organization design can deliver:

  • Up to 30% improvement in discretionary performance
  • A 50% increase in individual productivity
  • Tangible improvements in staff morale and motivation

We help you identify the right structure and framework by reviewing your business strategy to identify inefficiencies or ineffective ways of working. We work with you to define the key processes, jobs and structure as well as the skills and behaviours needed to deliver your strategy. We work alongside you to define the 'job families' for your business. This involvement ensures perfect organizational 'fit' as well as fantastic employee buy in.

Performance Management

Is your staff clear about their objectives and what's expected of them? Lack of clarity is the number one stress factor for employees and managers. Having a performance management system which

  • Clarifies contribution
  • Delivers feedback
  • Rewards performance

will result in a less stressed and more productive workforce. We support your implementation by providing focused training for managers and employees in giving and receiving feedback, rating and appraisal.

It does not have to be complicated or even directly linked to reward but introducing a performance management system is the single most effective thing you can do to raise the day to day performance of your people.

Job Evaluation and Pay

Is your staff telling you they are underpaid? How do you know what to pay for a job or if you are paying too much?

Job evaluation is an analytical tool to help you determine the relative size of jobs in your organisation and provide you with a fair and objective basis for setting pay levels. It can help identify the appropriate number of grades or pay ranges and the relative differences between them.

The job evaluation process frequently involves job analysis, from which comprehensive job descriptions are produced. We can help produce these for you and they are invaluable for recruitment and selection, training and development, HR planning, performance management and organisation review.

You need to be able to attract and keep staff of the required calibre. We are able to carry out pay research, and design reward structures and bonus schemes to support your goals. This includes the design and introduction of appropriate benefits packages.

Development and Coaching

It is not always effective to send someone on a training course. At Chiswick Consulting we help you understand the 'skills gap' in your workforce by starting with business goals and defining and assessing staff against your ideal skill set (typically by using a competency framework.

Depending on your budget and your priorities, we will recommend the most appropriate solution for you whether it is:

  • Tailored in house solutions such as leadership programmes
  • Off the shelf courses
  • Coaching
  • Self directed learning

Talent Management

Do you know who will be your leaders of the future? Identifying and retaining talent is the biggest challenge you'll face in the 21st Century. We help you identify your future leaders and set out a plan to develop these individuals so they can move into the key roles in the business.

We begin by analyzing your business strategy and identifying the skills that will have the biggest impact on your success. We then assess the skills of top performers against the requirements of these roles and help you create training and coaching programmes to fill the gaps. We use competency frameworks as an objective measure of performance.
